EXP2- Designer Concepts of Iakov Chernikhov & Bernard Tschumi

IAKOV CHERNIKHOV

BRIEF INTRODUCTION


   Yakov Georgievich Chernikhov (Яков Георгиевич Чернихов) (5 (17) December 1889 in Pavlograd, Yekaterinoslav Governorate, Russian Empire (now Pavlohrad, Ukraine) – 9 May 1951 in Moscow, Soviet Union) was a constructivist architect and graphic designer. His books on architectural design published in Leningrad between 1927 and 1933 are amongst the most innovatory texts (and illustrations) of their time.

CONCEPT

1.      Constructism :To construct and create new idea .Architecture is not only a ‘building’ but ‘symbols’
       

2.      Building has social purpose. It was used to divide states in the society.
 

3.      Line /Face/Circle/Formatting/Object were to be created not fro beauty but to carry out a fundamental  analysis of materials and construction .
 

4.      logical composition
 

5.      repletion of using geometric forms by vertical/horizontal arrangement and scaling in different size

 

 

 

Bernard Tschumi

BRIEF INTRODUCTION

      Bernard Tschumi (born 25 January 1944) is an architect, writer, and educator, commonly associated with deconstructivism. Son of the well-known architect Jean Tschumi, born of French and Swiss parentage, he works and lives in New York City and Paris. He studied in Paris and at ETH in Zurich, where he received his degree in architecture in 1969

CONCEPT


1.      geometric form is dynamic movement


 

2.      the building is created for some public area
 

3.      ‘Extroverted’ architectureThe buildings engage to the environment. protecting and deferring to the natural quality of the site.


 

4.      Connection between open area and inner space.
